Rivitz Announces Return Of Workers After Pay-Cut Row

Strike in the plant of Industrial Rayon Corporation, W. 98th Street and Walford Avenue ended Wednesday when 500 workers who walked out last week went back to their machines.

The announcement was made by Hiram Rivitz, president of the company.

The strike followed a reduction in piece work rates March 25, incident to the adoption of a new process of operation.

Of the 1400 women employed at the plant, but 200 protested the new wage scale, while approximately 300 more went on a "sympathetic strike."
