Poet levy Praises "Gap" Series
I’m cutting out the Feagler-Weidenthal Generation Gap articles and hanging them on my walls (as works of art). I was so stunned by the first of the series I could believe you’d follow up with equally honest reporting.
Generation Gap is the finest writing I’ve seen in a Cleveland newspaper for a long time. The quotes were lines I’ve heard before and they seemed to be in context rather than distorted for public digestion.
The piece by Joseph Kraft was also very impressive. Police withdrawal from changes in the society is identical to what had happened in the poetry scene. Now the poets are at least stepping out from their unchanging past tradition and speaking out (and getting arrested). Are the police going to arrest Feagler and Weidenthal because they had the moxie to notice that somebody wants pot legalized?
Anyway, I’m going back to reading the articles pinned on the wall next to the Pepsi poster and the Grotto Circus poster and worry about you reporters being secretly indicted
