"The Great Lakes Area has a natural type of writer not previously recognized," levy said. "I had hoped to compile an anthology of Cleveland poets."

His Poetry does not rest lightly upon adult ears.

"It’s absurd when people get upset over common obscenities in poetry," he said. "Unfortunately, you need to catch your audience’s attention sometimes as to hat you’re really saying. You throw in an obscenity. They understand that."

"Then you say what you want to say fast, when their heads are clear."

At a friend’s urging, levy read children’s poems recently for a "special class of smart kids who were underachieving."

"First the boys thought poetry was for sissies. I told them that many soldiers in other countries wrote poems after they had won a war."

"One asked me why I didn’t go to college. I answered that the college didn’t have the course I wanted. He asked me to be more specific. I said I wanted to study angles."
