Nickel Plate Railroad Collections® in the Michael Schwartz Library

Special Collections at the Michael Schwartz Library, Cleveland State University holds several collections about the Nickel Plate Railroad, consisting of files, drawings and images of the railroad, especially as it passes through Cleveland. There is a general Nickel Plate Collection containing some small panoramic negatives of Nickel Plate views and many boxes of Nickel Plate drawings.

Two photo albums document the grade elimination project along the Nickel Plate right-of-way in Cleveland and adjacent neighborhoods. These images can be viewed online in Cleveland Ohio, Along the Nickel Plate Road as well as in Yesterday's Lakewood.

In addition, the North American Railway Foundation was generous enough to underwrite the purchase of two other collections of Nickel Plate photographic negatives, one being from the company's publicity department and the other from the personal collection of the late Mr. John A. Rehor, author of The Nickel Plate Story.
